Writing and Reading Test
(120 minutes)
The examination consists of 4 sections:
The composition of a letter or memo, of between 150 to 200 words, communicating within an organisation or between organisations. (30 marks)
- A prose passage of about 300 words for comprehension. The short answers required will oblige candidates to relate and use information across the passage, not merely to reproduce it in sequence. (30 marks)
- A 'read and think' comprehension task, based on some graphic or numerical display stimulus and requiring short answers.
(20 marks)
- A 'read and write' reformulation task, where candidates will have to label a diagram, or fill in a form or questionnaire etc. (20 marks)

Please note. In order to receive a Hungarian Certificate it is necessary to achieve a minimum 40% at each skill.
Speaking and Listening Test
It consists of two parts:
Listening Test - 30 marks
Speaking Test – 70 marks
Listening Test (Approx. 20 minutes)
The Listening Test is conducted on the day of the Writing/Reading Test. The test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. The recording is played once. It is permitted to read the questions before the recording. Maximum score is 30.
Speaking Test
(5 minutes preparation, 7 to 9 minutes exam)
The Candidate selects a question prepared from the 8 Oral Topics and is then allowed to have 5 minutes preparation time. No written assistance may be used and making notes is not permitted. The test starts with a 2 minute warm-up in a general and business setting so that candidate feels more relaxed and able to get used to the recording. The exam consists of 3 tasks: a discourse on the selected subject, followed by a discussion and role play on the same topic. Evaluation is based on vocabulary, fluency & interaction, grammar and pronunciation. Maximum score is 70.
Total scores from the Listening Test and the Speaking Test make up the final mark (maximum 100 marks).
